VIS Motorsport Pump Upgrade - Any opinions??
« on: November 22, 2016, 05:25:32 pm »
Hi guys,

I probably should have posted this before I bought and paid for the part :ashamed:

... But... anyhoo.... I've just bough a VIS Motorsport Stage 1 pump upgrade for my AXX GTI which is going K04.

Anyone have any experience or opinions on this pump upgrade??

I've been doing lots of digging around on the Facebook TFSI Tuning Group and the feedback is pretty positive for VIS.

But just wondering if anyone here on Mk5GTI.co.uk has any feedback?

Cheers in advance,
Dave

Thanks @fab5freddy

I fitted this in months back and immediately noticed a difference in mid to high end revs and the feel of my car pulling a lot better up and down the M1 where as it felt kind of sluggish with the oem internal on the same stretch of motorway. It maybe me thinking it's different but I sure felt a hike is response especially when that mk5 R32 tried it on  :signLOL: boy was struggling to keep up and I was gapping his car my dad and quick.
Just need to get it on the rollers before the map to see if there really is any difference with just bolt ons or am I just dreaming it

I was told not to get one of these but I've not read anything bad about them before or since fitting it and the guys who have one fitted to their cars haven't had any issues that I've heard of so far. One fella has had his one in for over two years so happy that I chose this one.

@r5gtt I remember others saying that when fitting the internals yourself, you have to get it bang on. Can you offer a little more explanation having done this yourself.

Im currently on a k04 on my bwa with standard injectors/hpfp so need to look at a hpfp upgrade

Difficult to explain without the use of pictures which I don't have anymore.
Best thing is ask the seller who will be more than happy to WhatsApp you some as he did for me as he's got the best method of how too.  :happy2:

You hear more autotech stories as they've sold more...... a lot more.... simple as that really. You also only ever hear the negatives when they go wrong, never the positives from the countless thousands that run them across the world

The internals are no more or less likely to fail than the VIS ones provides both are machined correctly. It all hinges down to how they are assembled, coupled with the condition of the pump itself.
