Where is the clutch switch
« on: December 01, 2016, 10:21:16 am »
I have a 2005 mk5 golf GTI. I need to replace the clutch switch.

Can anyone confirm where this is please? And have photos of what it looks like? The brake switch was an easy one as it was on the pedal. I have no clue what I am looking for for the clutch

I had wondered haha.

Guessing this is on the clutch master cylinder?

Is there a guide to fitting, will it need bled afterwards etc? Been looking online and there seems to be no conclusive guide anywhere

Additonal fun info - it seems to depend on model year where the clutch sensor is - early cars are on the pedal, later cars on the master cylinder.

Will order a new one against my chassis number and from there will hopefully find out where it is!

So I have the hall sensor one on the master cylinder.

Can anyone confirm if the systems needs rebled after fitting? Or does this not go into the fluid? Hard to tell from the information and photos online
