Tailgate Replacement
« on: December 03, 2016, 05:46:04 pm »
I wondered if anyone can tell me what the wires on the drivers side of the tailgate operate as Ive just changed my 2005 gti tailgate for a 2008 one. On my 2005 tailgate I have the earth cable the washer pipe and 2 other wires. One wire has a cream colour connector and one has a brown connector but the 2008 tailgate only has the brown one. Everything seems to work on the tailgate but I am curious and wondered if anyone can shed some light on it. Thanks

Can anyone tell me how I adjust the tailgate as the gap is equal all round albeit a bit wide. Also on the left side it protrudes out by a few mm right where the light cluster is. Do I adjust via the lock, the little black stops by the dampers or the 4 hinge bolts?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)
