Potential new golf owner
« on: December 04, 2016, 12:57:52 am »
Hi all. I'm looking at buying my first golf and have come across this... http://www.cleckheaton-car-sales.co.uk/used-cars/search-results?make=VOLKSWAGEN&vehicleType=cars.

Going to make the 80 mile round trip to test drive and view it either tomorrow or Monday. I've spoke to them about the Cat D and the garage said it was front right wing damage with repair invoice to back it up. Dumb question is this a MK5 or MK6

the golf is a mk5--when you viewed it i would check round the o/s/f  as the car wont be a catd jjust for wing damage

As Andy says - Mk5.

Those headlights looks super nasty, eBay specials. Some people on here have liked them though so if it's what you want sure why not?

The alloy wheels look like reps as well and not actual Monza IIs.

It's low-spec for a £4.5k and as you said is cat D. Is there any ability to get a GTI? Or is it insurance/petrol costs that's ruling them out?

It does have leather seats which is a plus and from what I can see has a RCD 310 radio, which is not standard, which I would think is better than the standard radio? Not sure.

I would get a standard GTI at £3.5k with more miles.
