Will these buttons be ok to convert my normal steering wheel to mfsw on my DSG ?
Do I still need a controller?

Believe the control box will already be there as it controls your paddles, can always whip your airbag and check

I just did this on my GTI with DSG.

The loom etc. was already there and the button faces were just blanked off.  :stupid: , when they're including the hardware from the factory, you'd think they'd throw in the buttons. How much more could they cost!?

Anyway, your car being a DSG should already have the correct (highline) controller (if your car has paddles) and those buttons should transfer over and work immediately without any coding just as mine did.

Best of luck.  :happy2:

Thanks guy's, what's the highline controller, is it related to the highline clocks which I don't have.

It's the steering control module which is under the column in your car.

I don't have highline clocks either BTW but because the car is DSG with paddles, it came with the higher function unit and thus able to run MFSW controls (and cruise which I also retrofitted - but needed coding) out of the box. No coding required.

HTH  :happy2:

Ah cheers76, luckily I've got cruise as standard, so if I got highline clocks they would be a straight fit and plug in job, nothing else needed as I saw some for £60?

No clock won't be plug and play like the buttons. They will need coding to work, using vag commander. The clocks you see for £60 were standard fsi and not GTI, they would fit but are of a different style
