Graphite Blue Pirelli Edition
« on: January 05, 2017, 11:02:25 am »
hi all.

not my first vw....my 7th! previously had a white mk5 gti with a remap and exhaust when I was 20, loved it but went to a mk6 gtd when I was driving to work.
had a nice 06 plate polo gti with cup edition body kit before that and moved onto a merc however I wanted a hot hatch Manual to have some fun with at at £9k I couldn't think of a better option than another mk5!

never did look out of place even in front of a roller

hadn't really considered a pirelli edition before however when this one popped up I loved the colour and the spec on it. picked it up 5 weeks ago but had to have my appendix out and didn't have time to sort it and even worse I couldn't drive it !

had been given a load of receipts for it since it was 18months old and turns out it had only done 20k miles in the last 4 years !.... took it straight to our trusted  mechanics and done a full do over on it. they think it had been sat in a garage down by the coast for a while as the underneath was covered in a layer of salt/sand. so I had the underneath and engine deep cleaned and wax oiled to protect it. had the discs and pads upgraded to brembo front and rear.....cut long story short, included some cosmetic replacements like a new original engine cover and major service etc.....£2k bill later it  was time for a good clean wax and Polish.

spec:
72k miles
3dr
kufatec 510 sat nav.
highline computer
original 6 cd changer
heated seats
zenons
aux port *had fitted*

don't forget the usual pirelli add ons... I know the seats are like marmite for some people however I quite like them!

drives really good since I had a complete do over completed... don't have much plans for it at the moment as I'm enjoying going from a c250 diesel and going to a petrol ko4... want to get the exhaust cleaner but don't think it's ever been cleaned so may take a while!

will consider a remap and panel filter but nothing more as I only drive about 500 miles a month and spent the money on getting the car perfect mechanically rather than upgrades first!

do miss the cruise control though so will be considering this too!

I know 222 were shipped to UK but I have made enquiries with vw Germany to try and find out the exact amount it colours but proving difficult. hopefully will find out soon.

Gorgeour car! Welcome along!

Post some interior photos, I'd say you love the Pirelli edition seats? The new clubsport seats are quite similar to them actually.
