Alarm Problem following flat battery...
« on: February 13, 2017, 01:48:59 pm »
Apologies, this is probably not the right place to post, but my son has been having a flat battery problem on his Honda Civic 2003, through insufficient use to charge it up (student). Now he says the alarm goes off every time he locks the car, so has to pop the bonnet or leave the boot open a bit so that he can lock the rest of the car. He says alarm light flashes 3 times, then sounds off. Thinking it might be the micro-switch on the bonnet, but anyone have any other thoughts? Can we just pull a fuse or something for the time being?

Any suggestions welcome - thanks

My wife's Beetle had a similar thing when the battery was weak. I think it was due to the alarm system detecting a drop in voltage and believing someone was attempting to do something to the car. It might be different on a Honda, though.

New battery sorted it.
