Kav's Grey GTi - minor updates....
« on: February 21, 2017, 12:09:04 pm »
Hi All, my name is James and I recently bought myself a MK5 GTi in grey (5-door) with FSH and 84K. The car had the wings already replaced under warranty by the previous owner and is mint overall.

Car when I 1st bought it:

Since I bought it I have done the following work/mods to it...

Full service @ dealer

Cam Follower

Old one

Old PCV (gunky!) - replaced with latest revision

DV+
Pipercross airfilter
Dust filter
Heko wind deflectors
Android 5.1 HU

Replacement front panel as the one that was in the car wasn't 100%

LED interior and number plate bulb replacement

and finally refurbished 18" Monza with black inserts  :happy2:

That's it for now although I bought a low mileage downpipe (thanks eBay £19) and removed the pre-cat 'stuff' which is yet to be fitted.

Thanks for looking.

Good work! Did you knock the precat out with the downpipe upside down? Little bits can fall down.

Wheels look lovely!

Thanks Pesky  :happy2: - Yes, I did do it upside down but before fitting I will be blasting with compressed air to make sure that there are no little nasties still in there...!

Soooo pleased with the finish. I live in South Shields and the guy that did them (SEM Alloys) was brilliant, offering replacement wheels while he did the waor but I ended up buying some other genuine rims on eBay and dropping them off to be refurbished. My old ones that are mint will be up for sale soon
