Worth selling my RNS 510 version R (with SSD) and bluetooth harness for something like this?

Going by this guy, yes?

I'd just say that if you are thinking of buying the RCD330 with CarPlay features, I have so far found it very buggy. But still think for the money versus other OEM options it is very good value.

Okay, fair review!

I'll stick with what i know works reliably, if not a bit slowly!

Just picked up the latest revision of this with the bugs fixed. It's great so far. I believe I need to upgrade my steering module to CH to get the MFSW buttons working as that's the only thing not working yet. Other than that it's excellent. Sound quality is so much better than the previous unit.

What was your previous unit? What way is the sound better?

Does this support navigation via highline clocks?

Just fitted one of these yesterday but mfsw controls not working so guessing I need to upgrade module. Anyone know which one I should be looking at changing to?

Previous unit was the Kenwood DNX520VBT. The RCD330 just has better clarity. I found the Kenwood quite muddy and muffled. I couldn't dial it out with EQ, although to be fair I only ever listened to the radio on it as I couldn't stream bluetooth to it, which was a major downer for me.

I have midline so can't comment on the nav, but I'd be suprised.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm led to believe from some other threads that the CH steering module might work. I've got one coming tomorrow and will try and fit at the weekend to confirm. It may need a wholesale upgrade to the 12 button steering wheel to work.

wont work with an 8 button mfsw, needs the 12 button (and thats a bit of a can of worms).  The use the newer BAP protocol too so it wont do much beyond be a radio.

Could be the switch to streaming music, I've noticed on my RNS310 that radio is awful compare to my streamed spotify music

Also looking to upgrade my stereo, and am tempted by this.  Although it needs to work with android.  The money saved on this against the likes of a RNS 315 could go towards mk6 clocks and MFSW, which would make for a nice all-round upgrade.

Anyone found out if it has an on screen display for clinatronic controls like the rns510? Was debating the mk6 clinatronic panel upgrade but it relies on on screen information to set the temperature.

Sorry if a bump is frowned on, but given it's been a bit longer and the long shipping times to get it figured it was worth asking another question:

Anyone been able to save radio station names as presets? All the forum links/photos just show FM frequencies and that's a tad less than ideal.

Edit: bought it. Arrived in three days.

To answer my own questions. Nope preset radio stations are listed by frequency only. No station art either.
Mk5 clinatronic controls don't trigger any on screen display. Will check with the Passat b7 ones when they arrive.

Am wondering what to do with the antenna though. Beige one works well on FM, most of the time. White gives me noise on FM and reasonable AM. Will investigate further but the lack of diversity antenna input on the rcd330 plus is making me wonder if there's a way to put a small dongle between the two inputs and mix them into one output.

How did you go? Will upgrading the steering wheel module to 1K0 953 549 CH (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/VW-Steering-Wheel-Module-Multifunction-Cruise-Control-System-For-Golf-6-Jetta-MK5-1K0-953-549/32399074858.html) allow the 8 button MFSW to work?

Mines all working now - I just had to reset my iPhone. I've been using it on the daily commute to work - little bit buggy but overall I'm well happy with it.

Seller says he's paid too much money for firmware so not willing to give it away. Worth a try I suppose. I should've waited another week and got one

When you said "reset my iPhone" did you mean an iTunes restore or just turn it off and back on?
I'm having the same issue where carplay won't show up either. Just baidhu carlife
