ebay down pipes

Im running the above eBay one and having problems getting gassed when the car is stationary. Fumes blowing in the car when the heater fans are on. I removed  the gasket that comes with down pipe and fitted a new OEM gasket from vw but still have the same Problem. Need to remove and check for warping of the flange on the downpipe. So good idea to check before fitting one of these.

Oh that's strange. I've not had any problems with mine, neither has my mate. And we used the gasket that came with it. Have you checked the flexibility pipe?

After removal of the downpipe You can visibly see the soot patch on the gasket where it's been seeping gasses.  Yeah it's strange. Maybe just a faulty one.

I've got the £150 one from page 1 (paid £130) and it fits my Octavia with a milltek cat back but I had to get a local shop to change the end to 2.75" from the 2.25" it comes with. It did not fit the standard system though.

After removal of the downpipe You can visibly see the soot patch on the gasket where it's been seeping gasses.  Yeah it's strange. Maybe just a faulty one.

Put a straight edge on the turbo flange.  I thought my APR downpipe was warped as I could see daylight through the gasket when torqued down, but the turbo itself is warped slightly.

All welded up and now super quite and more power. If yoru going to buy one then just get the weld reinforced so you dont have to take it off and get it done later down the line.

overall still cheaper than any other on the market

Did you have a poly dog bone insert? Milltek require one for their warrenty so I'd assume this could be a problem for most stainless downpipes.

No I dont have a polybush fitted althought I do have one. I think it has had been cracked for a while as it was quite loud. The welds are quite weeks unless you get a new version from the lives of relentless or BCS. Still cheaper to get a ebay downpipe and reinforce the subframe hanger mount.
