Heating wrapping parts

as per above post wrapped electrical tape but lasted a week before peeling off due to heat (just bought some new one and gonna try again)

anyone heat wrapped any parts in engine bay? wondering whether to just heat wrap the pipe the induction cone is rubbing on

I used some thin gauge rubber pipe - cut in half (xsection) and fitted that over the sharp edges to prevent metal to rubber contact
Been in place a couple of years now no issues - think it was old vaccum pipe
