im quite keen on the JBS version of the TB/IC pipe. it can be had with a bung for water methanol injection to save you drilling into an expensive pipe.

plus looking at the clips that hold together the piping for the discharge kit look very robust.  this JBS kit definately looks better than the new speed varients.

other options are the SFS hoses which are 250 for the pair, but netted 10hp on chungsters before and after

Do those options have another "pipe" to replace the original outlet of the turbo? That's where the gains are to be had. not promising anything but hopefully i have pictures of the parts fitted to mine thursday.  :drinking:

....

Yes I've got the whole Neuspeed kit - Discharge and Charge pipes plus SAMCO hoses. Engine seems freer revving but not much else. I did it as a precautionary because stock hoses are potentially more prone to have problems with increased boost levels.

Rather expensive and with poor return (performance-wise) for the money in my case. I think there are possibly some better choices available now - As suggested in this thread.

I didn't do any dyno tests though.

iirc mater said he made 5hp from the neuspeed discharge pipe and nothing fromt he neuspeed discharge pipe.

from looking at the pics of the JBS id say they look a liittle better.

here is a pic of the SFS discgharge pipe next to the Oem pipe.  which parts do the JBS kit replace?

here is the neuspeed varient

i dont get the neuspeed one. it seems as all they did was shorten the metal pie, throw some silicone at it, and increase the diameter slightly. then charg extortionate amounts of money for it.

I like the look of the SFS kit. the flow characteristics would be vastly improved over the others, but it does away with the metal altogether, hence why i like the look of the JBS kit. it looks that little bit more solid in construction

Although I've got it installed, I don't get the Neuspeed offering either. I think Awesome were possibly trying to make their sales targets that month! As a result I'm now a little suspicious of most Neuspeed products.

i was going to pick the neuspeed one up back along but only as it was a second hand bargain, but i backed out when i saw the SFS offering as it looked like it made more sense design wise. plus chungsters before and after dyno runs showed a good gain.

the reason im stalling at the moment is i want water meth Inj at some stage. now i know the JBS IC/TB pipe can be had with a bung for w/m inj.

I wouldnt be able to do this with the SFS hoses as they are silicone, and the neuspeed one is a lot more expensive than than the others and id have to drill it so could never realistically sell it on.  and the JBS pipe seems a lot fatter in construction.

Alternatively you can buy the 'JBS' parts from Eurojet (who manufacturer them) for half the price..

JBS sell it for £142 incl tax.

eurojet are knocking them out for $125 (£78) which is a big saving but doesnt take into account the delievery
ive never ordered from america before so if i was to buy that, would i get smashed with impot tax and delivery.

@JC

any reason why you are not running such a kit on your car.  they must be better than stock and with your current setup every little helps with the efficiency i guess

I have a RR Graph of before and after the Turbo Discharge pipe was put on.

It didn't include the intercooler pipe as i have now Relocated the DV but the discharge pipe alone gave me 4bhp and 10lb/ft so i would imagine it would be somewhere around that figure for you Hurdy

See here:

Before Discharge Pipe

After Discharge Pipe

Oh and i know the RR Runs are 6 months apart but nothing else was altered on the car. I got the discharge pipe and added it. The car was still running Stage 2 REVO on settings B8 T5 F8. All other mods were the same.

The Intercooler pipe makes no difference (well not on my K03s Octavia anyway) which is part of the reason i relocated the DV and took it off (also because i have other plans).

But the Turbo discharge pipe definately gives an increase and i would expect it maybe a bit more on a K04 car.

@ Sy and RedRobin. The Neuspeed one removes the kink/curve in the OEM pipe so makes the airflow better hence the slight increase in power etc. Price i agree is too expensive but i didn't pay the full price.
