RNS510 + Fiscon
« on: May 22, 2017, 01:01:46 am »
So I am fitting my RNS 510 and Fiscon Bluetooth into my Edition 30.  My phone wont see the Fiscon to connect to it though.  And I don't yet have a highline cluster in the car to see if ti shows up there.

I was wanting to try to factory reset it, but that wont work without either connecting a phone (which it wont do if it already has 5 connections), or a highline cluster.  Well, as far as I can tell.

Any ideas?  I have enabled telephone with VCDS in the CAN gateway (although I am using a version Q, which I believe comes from a Passat or something).  But in general, I get nothing.

Also, my ipod connection under the arm rest doesn't appear to be working.  Was working fine with my MFD2 before.  Is it not compatible?

Ok,

So after todays outing in the car, I did manage to connect to the Fiscon.  However, I couldn't get anything to show on screen.  When I hit the phone button, all it does is mute the audio.  When I un-mute the audio (by pressing the phone button again), the volume is significantly lower than it was originally.  Any idea why it wouldn't show anything on-screen?

Also, I received a call while driving, and I had to answer it with the phone (luckily on a decent mount), but the microphone didn't work.  Now, I am connected to the Parrot microphone I had initially installed, mostly because it was already run.  But do I need to get a proper Kufatec or VW mic for this system to work?

Also, I notice from some posts that reverse parking sensors, and the climate controls can appear on the RNS 510 screen.  Is this possible with the standard mk5 equipment?  Or do I need to move up to mk6 components?  If mk5 will work, how would I go about getting that to work?
