Are they folded over?   That happens a lot with these cars.  People put the jack in the wrong place, or they use the scissor jack and it falls out, understeer off the road and up a kerb.....all manner of reasons!

On my old MK4 R32, my sills (front and rear, and both sides!) literally looked like someone had put the car on it's roof and then smashed the living crap out of the sills with a sledgehammer.   I would love to take said hammer to some previous owners heads sometimes.
