Water pump replacement
« on: August 07, 2017, 07:01:28 pm »
The cam belt and tensioner were replaced on my 2007 Mk5 at 52000 miles according to the service record but not apparently the water pump. Car is now on approx. 79000 miles so I guess the pump is overdue do I need to replace belt again?

I don't think there is a replacement interval on the water pump just recommended to be changed with the belt. If it's not leaking I would just change it next time the belt is due which is every 4 years.

Car should have had two belts by now... Is it not overdue a second? I'd get the pump replaced at the same time as the belt unless you get any symptoms before hand
