« on: December 28, 2008, 02:44:07 pm »
Has anybody any recommendations as far as Car Insurance companies ?
Our renewal notice has come in at £641 with previous insurer.  :surprised:
Car is completely standard !

Give Adrian Flux a go I've been with them for the last 5 years and no one can beat them for me modded or unmodded.

Adrian Flux wanted £1000 to insure me on a standard Edition 30 .... with full NCB protected and no claims or convictions.  I am over 40  and live in the SW London part of Surrey.

My then insurer Elephant wanted £500.

Greenlight (using Highway Insurance) did it for £497 including a SC Bluefin remap !!!

Excess was £100 less than Elephant too at £250

For a standard Ed30 with no mods try Swiftcover or Esure

Standard basic cover with Swift was £280 for me with the ED 30

My tip is :

1. Go to Gocompare.com  or Moneysupermarket.com and find the most competitive quotes (but don't take it out via these sites)

2. Then save around £45 and apply online via Quidco

Funny the difference people get with the same insurer.

I'm with Adrian Flux and it was £585 with all my mods declared and like for like replacement in case of a write off with a guaranteed value as I also have GAP insurance.

One thing I will say is that I said I was a member of UKMKIV's and received an extra discount. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

Admiral seem to be the best at the moment! £389 with protected NCB and total £300 excess(vol + compulsory). Legal cover included but personal accident cover is + £24.95 for £30,000
