Bang/thud on start up
« on: October 25, 2017, 10:22:02 pm »
So recently I have have noticed when my car is cold I get a load thud/bang noise just as the car starts. Ticks over 2/3 times as normal then a thud just as it kicks into life. Runs fine once stated, No issue if the engine is warm. Like if I drive home from work and stop at the shop or something I can get back in the car and it will start without a thud. So Just seems to be when cold. Anybody have or have heard of this issue before. I’m assuming it’s something to do with stated motor or battery. Hoping not to expensive to fix as I’m booked in for a new SS exhaust on the 13th.

Could be a worn engine mount.  They are not the smoothest of starters.
