Amber steering wheel light.
« on: January 06, 2018, 08:08:45 pm »
Evening guys, I have replaced the thermostat on my 2005 mk5  gti today (what a job that was).  I went out for a quick drive just to make sure the engine got to temp ok. The car was sat in the drive running for a while so I only went about 1.5 miles. It got up to temp and stayed there fine so thought all was well. I went back out to the car probably an hour ish later, started the car and as soon as I did I noticed the amber steering wheel on the dash. I went to the shops and came home with the light on hoping it would turn off but it is still on. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be ? Hope your all having a good evening 👍

The steering feels the same as it always has, but I have only had the car about 2 weeks 😆

Could be worth try some of the none vcds stuff from the link, ie wheel left / right / center and drive straight slow. If you don’t have any luck just let the bloke who’s scanning for you that you need some steering adaptions doing (so he can allow any additional time)

Sounds like a good plan, I will try the non vcds option tomorrow and if it fails hopefully the vcds will be able to sort it! Thanks again 👍
