Replacement Tyres
« on: January 20, 2018, 02:15:36 pm »
Hi guys,

I haven't seen a tyre thread on here in a while and was looking for advice on what to replace the Conti Sport Contact 5 tyres  I have on my 17 inch wheels. They have worn out so quickly so I definitely want to try a different tyre.

These are for normal road use, no track use. Car is stage 1 but I drive moderately.

Are goodyear eagle F1 asy 3 still the members choice?

Looking to get all four replaced (there goes the new TV fund...again)

Thanks

Most people have decent opinions on Michelin pilotsport 4 or the F1 Eagle Asyms. Ive used both and like them both. PS4 feel a little slippery in the wet compared to Eagles (but neither great) although they seem to grip very well on a dry warm road. PS4 also cost a little more and in my experience wear very slightly faster.

Ok thanks - Asymmetric 3 or 2 though?

I've read mixed reviews but leaning towards 3s.

I had a blow out a month back so fitted another Asymmetric 3 on and now bought two Asymmetric 2's as spares both equally good imho

Thanks guys, better get them ordered.

One more thing, does it matter if I go for xl version? (extra load). It looks like the xl are worth the extra 90p per tyre.
