4 Wheel Alignment/Geometry - When?
« on: April 13, 2018, 03:47:36 pm »
Had new tyres 18 months ago, and a basic alignment check 6 months after that. Tyres are now maybe a bit more than 50% worn and have rotated them front to back a few months ago to even out the wear a little.

Recently noticed my steering wheel slightly off center on straight roads, off to the right by maybe 5 or 10° but no noticeable pulling to one side or the other i.e. I can release the wheel when driving straight ahead and the car remains reasonably on track.

Never had a proper alignment check on a hunter machine or similar. Question is - is it worth considering having this done now, or is it counterproductive to not have this done at the same time as a set of new tyres? Would the part worn tyres mean they are not sitting optimally and maybe give a less than optimal geometry set up before a new set of boots in perhaps 12 months time?
