.
How are those new DRLs switched, Steve? Manually switched on/off or is there any aspect of them automatic such as on ignition?

They look so much better than the standard Mk6 'DRLs' which aren't really, imo.
Robin, if you stray into the mk6 section Steve tells all in there on how they work on his how too.

Lights where £370 each before discount.

The DRL's work as follows: -

Headlight Switch Off = All lights Off
Headlight Switch Auto (Day light) = LED DRL's Front Only On
Headlight Switch Auto (Night) = Normal Dipped Beam Xenon's plus dimmed LED's
Headlight Switch Sidelight = LED DRL's + Rear Taillights

Indicator Active = Dimmed LED's on the side of the active indicator

Love the DRLs mate. The little LEDs in their casings look very sexy!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

^^^^ Nope not difference of the torque handling, it's the electronics and control system side of the box that has changed, hence the reason no DSG remaps are available it as yet.

what about the clutch on the mk6. is it the same as the mk5,

@ chungster, APR claimed 380Hp for the k04 conversion on the tsi, and they are normally quite reserved.

The APR kit was GT28 based that got 380, their K04 code is somewhere around 350bhp.

I believe the clutch is the same on the Mk6 as the Mk5.

Time to bring this chapter to a close, the process of going back to standard started today and should be completed before the week is out, not much to offer the rest of you Mk5 owners before the vultures start  :signLOL:

So if anyone is interes in a very well specced Mk6 you know where to find me  :happy2:

Not sure on a replacement yet but I am sure it will be from the VAG stable  :innocent:
