Help, as I guess Dave wont be reading this or AKS Alex is there anyone else about who professes to have a bit of knowledge regarding the 996 tt 350 mm set up and swapping back to the oem 312mm set up?

Otherwise will drop AKS a line but sure he is very busy... :drinking:

I had the Brembo 18Z with 350 mm discs. Now I have TTRS calipers with AP Racing discs. What do you want to know?

Trying to swap back to the 312mm set up and my mechanic rings to say, "the oem discs you have supplied dont fit centre hub hole too small" he reassembles the 996tt kit on and then I remembered (via Johnny BCR) that the 996 kit had two centering rings/spigots to allow the Merc 350mm disc to go on the VAG hub.

Could these rings be the reason the oem discs wouldn't go on? My man said he saw mo such rings but then didn't know to look out for them and seeing as the brakes have been on the car since late 2012/early 2013 could they have rusted and appear to be part of the hub, easily missed if not looking for them?

If my understanding of the 350,, kit is right they must still be on the car otherwise the Merc disc would be shaking the wheels?

Yeap, you're right. The rings must be there and well rusted into the wheel bearing/hub. Tell you mechanic to remove the rings. Worst case scenario you'll need 2 new wheel bearings. You can buy from SKF that's good quality and much cheaper than OEM.

I had to have those rings when I had the Brembo 18Z that use the same MB 350 mm discs as that kit.
