Cruise control retrofit issues
« on: February 03, 2019, 05:36:42 pm »
Hello there

Im having issues with a retrofit for a MK5 GTI 2005.  AXX engine.  Currently have changed the following

Stalk to 1k0 953 513 G (meyle 1008500005)
Steering wheel unit is 1k0 953 549 F
Installed cable from blue plug to back of steering wheel control module (term 13 in plug and term 4 in blue plug)

Any ideas as it STILL isnt working.  Cheers guys

SOLVED!

turns out dippy here only coded the steering module and not the engine! Spent hours scratching my head and debated about ripping it all apart, thank God for YouTube!

hope this helps someone out!

I done this retro fit on my 06 GTI, luckily for me, I only had to change the stalk and code it in! already had the right modules and the wire etc.. I think they are pre fitted 06 upwards - indeed I was lucky, as I really wouldn't of wanted to run that wire if I had to, looks a right pain! but then sometimes things look harder than they actually are.

reading your first 2 posts, I was thinking.. coding.. got to your last post and was happy to see you solved it with coding :)

man you would not believe the trouble it really was! haha

No it wasn't really that bad I just could not get one of the crimps to get into the connector for like an hour, so damn frustrating.

I think I was so worked up that I just didn't think about coding and just expected it to work.  Week on now and yeah its still working and loving it, A roads and motorways are a breeze now, cant wait to get on a long journey

Indeed. You have to go into the engine module, long coding helper and tick the cruise control box.

Edition 30 #1994 now sold. *cries*
