Temporary wheels while mine get refurbed
« on: April 16, 2019, 01:05:55 pm »
So, put these 16" Audi wheels on as a temporary measure, as my Monzas are off to be refurbished. I think they look ok!  Thought they would look really small, but I reckon they look bigger than 16's for some reason.

It's all relative!  I thought they would look worse than they do.   Yes can't wait for Monzas to come back, but to be fair I still need to drop em off.

Having 16's has changed the ride massively - much more comfortable on local roads, feels like a bentley!!;)

It would there’s a lot more air in them, so it’s going to be a softer ride.

Does feel like a boat now

Yeah when I ran 16" winters, the ride quality was massively better than 18s!   16" steels a lot lighter than the 18" alloys as well, so improvements all round.

Well I just did 350 miles today - fast B roads, duals and motorway on the 16s.

Very comfortable on motorway and duals. Felt a bit more wollowy on the B's but still felt good.

Also, parking is easier as I don't give a monkeys about scraping the kerb.

I guess the fact they are Michelin's helps too.

That is the unfortunate side effect of lofty side walls.  I've toyed with the idea of 8x16 banded steels with 225/50/16 rubber, just for sh*ts and giggs......but can't be arsed
