Hi, I posted a few months back concerning the "yellow gunk" under my oil filler cap that looked like Ambrosia Custard (Mmmmm
) Anyway I had some good feedback from the forum stating that this was due to doing short journeys (which I do) and the cold weather,( moisture not being burnt off and mixing with the oil) and that it was nothing to worry about. The car has been running beautifully, so I wasn't that worried.
However, the oil / custard had seemed to be getting thicker (around the cap) and I had noticed streaks of custard on the dip stick, so I took it back to the dealers (Kettering Autohaus) and they stated that they had had "lots" of cars back, during this cold weather, with this issue and it was nothing to worry about, stating the above concerning moisture etc. Anyway, as the car was still under warranty I asked for a compression test to be carried out just to make sure it wasn't the Head gasket. Luckily all came back well and the dealer has stated that I need to take it out for a burn to get rid of the "Custard"......
Anybody else out there running on Devon's finest export ? will it disappear in the long run? Any of you guys got more experience with it than me?. Cheers
