break pad upgrade
« on: September 12, 2019, 02:05:48 pm »
Bought a mk5 golf GTI, stage 2 mapped, haven't had the car all that long so just doing health check bits and bobs at the minute.

also looking to do one or two handling tweaks. I will eventually be upgrading the whole break set up but budgets at the minute wont allow for that just yet, so at the minute breaks are completely standard.

having said that, breaking is fine on the car, but I'm looking at upgrading the break pads for a bit more stopping power without breaking the bank, wont be tracking the car so looking for something that is best suited to normal and fast road driving.

TIA

I noticed a difference with green spot pads for every day driving but for spirited driving I'd like to get something better next time.
So I'd like to know too 😂

I have a pair of lightly used (6k miles) EBC red pads sitting here which you can have for free if you want to cover cost of shipping. They are quite decent with some heat in but were replaced by Endless MX72.

£10 should cover it and they have loads of life left. PM me your address details and they can go in the next day or so!

Did you still want these? I never received the paypal to cover postage. If not, then someone else can have them.

I refunded your paypal immediately with an explanatory message. In the absence of a response after a few days, I assumed you didn’t want them and binned them.
