RCD 510
« on: February 06, 2020, 09:24:23 pm »
Hi, recently got a RCD 510 radio for my golf. Plugging it in and its asking me for a pin. Would anyone know where I can find this pin I got the original booklet out of the car that the radio came out of and nothings in it also speaking to my friend who I bought the radio of he said he doesn't have anything in his car to do with the pin.

Where can I find the pin for this radio?

If purchased new (or an optional extra from the factory) they come with a small business card type code card, which has the 4 digit code on it. If you can't find that then sometimes if it's fitted 2nd hand someone will write the code on the unit somewhere. If none of that helps then your cheapest option is eBay as stated by @terrier

Just search RCD 510 code or look at this listing and their feedback https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283702507709

good luck

Rang vw checked would they give me the code they said its £30 because they have to bring the car into the workshop and read the code with their diagnostic machine. Went on ebay and bought that code as you guys suggested, got the code with in a 10mins.
Thanks a lot for the quick responses!
