Can I get rid of the fried egg in OEM Xenons?
« on: February 16, 2020, 07:36:29 pm »
I am trying to find out if there is a built in amber lens or orange bulb causing the not very attractive fried egg look in my OEM xenons - I understand the type of bulb is H21W - looks suspiciously like there is a lens

Attempted to find out this afternoon by pulling the passenger indicator bulb to see if it was orange, but after the wind blew the bonnet on me for the second time I made a hasty retreat indoors.

I managed to get the rubber boot off, but how I remove the bulb does not seem obvious & didn't want to get all Harvey Weinstein - by (allegedly) grabbing at things I shouldn't - looking at the bulb type it seems to be a bayonet push & twist??

Doesn't help that every guide I have found is for standard poverty-spec headlights - even the owners manual doesn't cover this variation

So... can anyone confirm the amber lens is there and can give any tips on bulb removal?
