Hi,
Bottom end:
You should have a timing mark on the crank pulley not the main toothed pulley but the actually pulley for the aux belt. The pulley should have the dot/dowel lined up and the 5 or 6 bolts holding it on, on the back side of that pulley there should be a notch which lines up on the lower cambelt cover arrow. The notch is quite hard to see, but it’s there!
Top end:
You will have a tooth on the cam pulley with a notch on and this should match the back plastic cover with the arrow. I think the notch on the tooth is more aimed at making sure that the exact tooth is lined up to the arrow not the notch, so If that arrow is 1 or 2mm off from the notch but lined up on that tooth then really don’t worry.
As long as the lower notch matches and the top tooth matches you’ll be more than fine. If you’re unsure exactly what I’m talking about let me know and I’ll post some pics from when I done my mates last month.
Hope this puts your mind at ease.
Cheers,
Muff.
