Manual gearbox oil
« on: July 18, 2020, 08:10:11 am »
Just looking to confirm if this is the correct oil for the 6 speed manual transmission and that I require 3 of them?
Thanks in advance.

Yes that's the one and you will need 3 as the box takes @2.4l

Give the bottles a hard shake for a couple of minutes before using them.  The additives seem to settle at the bottom because it sits on parts shelves for so long!

Just for general info really, but I thought I'd give Redline MTL a go as the general consensus is the OEM oil is best.  Just wanted to experiment and find out for myself.

I haven't noticed any change in cold shift quality but when hot, the shift feels more oily and slick, if that makes sense....slightly less chatter/whine noise also  :happy2:

I think VAG have changed the manual fluid recently because the last 3 bottles I bought, it was mega thin......almost like automatic trans fluid.  Didn't fancy putting that stuff in.
