Tyres
« on: September 02, 2020, 11:37:21 am »
Currently have Michelin pilot sport 4 fitted and will be due a change soon, was thinking of trying out the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy 5 as they are slightly cheaper.
Anyone run different tyres to the Michelins?
Its on an Edition 30 with a Stage 1 R-tech map.

You won't go wrong with the Asy 5 imo.

Tyre Reviews covered them vs the PS4 a while back

Interesting watch, seems to be hardly anything between the 3.

I switched from PS4 to F1 Supersports (extra load for stiffer sidewalls) and they are brilliant, no going back to PS4. My car is a stage 1 Ed30. My mate ran the Assy 5 on a stock GTI and was really impressed with them, although he found them a little floaty and wished he'd gone for the extra load tyres.

I have three sets of wheels with matching tyres all round.

One with Kuhmos, ones with Goodyear F1's and one with Sailun ZSR's

Goodyear F1's are good but I actually prefer my Sailun ZSR's for grip in the wet and dry

It is a personal choice

It’s not cheaper but I’m tempted to try Michelin PS4S when my PS4 wear out.

They're not for sale, you'd have to import them. Assuming your wheels are 17 or 18 inch.

I reported on here before that Camskill have them in 18’s albeit slightly wider size to standard but that could help with front end grip

With the Goodyear's being £20 a corner cheaper than the PS4 last time I checked, that's where my money would go.

ATS have £50 off on 4 Michelins at the moment, which make 4 Michelin PS4 about £50 cheaper than the Goodyear Eagle F1. Just had 4 fitted myself.

I have had Goodyear Eagle F1s on my 968 and my T5. I like them and they seem it last for a long time so no complaints here. I was wondering if I should put PS4s on my gti as lots of people recommend them on here so looking forward to watching that review.
