My ED30
« on: March 15, 2010, 09:42:51 pm »
Hi All

Following the advice received from many helpful site members, I recently bought myself an Edition 30. My former cars include a late 4x4 Sapphire Cosworth, Subaru Impreza WRX Prodrive, Focus ST Mountune and then a 2009 Impreza STi PPP which I sold to buy the ED30. Although the new STi was a fantastic car, especially with the Prodrive Performance Pack and suspension fitted, there were a few reasons for selling. The ride was just too fidgety around town, unsupportive seats, road tax likely to be loaded in the coming years (already £425.00), the attention that the car received and I am afraid the image that Imprezas are starting to suffer from now that they are more affordable. So the replacement had to address these issues, along with a better interior and a few creature comforts! So an ED30 it was!

I had to travel 230 miles, but I picked up a 2008 ED30, 5 door, Black pearlescent, 11500m with one owner. The spec is:

Sat Nav
Multi function steering wheel
Highline computer
Centre armrest with CD changer
Xenon headlights
Smokers pack
Sunroof
Luxury pack
Winter pack
3 year service package

Due to a few swirl marks and minor scratches, I decided to have the car detailed (pics below). I also just had a new set of Michelin PS3's fitted.

Observations so far..... much better interior, quieter, smoother and in some ways more fun to drive at sensible speeds. Absolutley no regrets!

Yes, I think they are the original mats. They have VW labels on the underside, but no specific Edition 30 badging - is that right?

No, I am not near Harrogate - the photos were taken as the detailers house in Essex.

Thanks for the comments, I really am enjoying the car and am very pleased with my purchase.
