Thats a great match Rich! You doing the whole headliner? I recall a post where the chap had stitched the headliner fabric to the hard liner then when the light cluster went in it was perfect. Can't recall who it was though :-(

Yeah it's not a bad match. Not 100% perfect but will take another look in daylight today. I am sure it's close enough. I'll do the whole thing I think.

Any supplier links as it is a good match, but I may also do the pillars for a perfect match to put my OCD to rest

Looking good, :happy2:  the pattern looks spot on, would be close enough match for me I think. The original side trims may have also faded slightly over time

That is a great match. I hope you can fit it as neatly as the factory did. I detect a faff coming on

Yes for the central part, but a lot like mine are gone/going near the sun visors on both side now.

Mine is a 2005 and was fine until this years heat wave.

I had mine done a few months ago. He used Flat Knit and the color: Charcoal. It too is a very close match...only a tiny bit darker; slightly noticeable some days and some days not at all. He ordered extra material and gave it to me, to do the pillars if ever needed or if I so choose.

When removing the original material he asked if I smoked in it. I said no, but I vape. He had me feel the foam backing and it was very tacky. He believes this is why the material began sagging...or "didn't help," I should say.

Just been reading up on this as I have the dreaded headliner sag. Haven’t posted in ages but needs must. Did you manage to have a go and fix the headliner @rich83 ? I have ordered a sample of that material in black as well. Mine is a MK5 black pearl 5 door with sunroof … joy at all those cutouts.

I reckon the “pay a fortune” option is a bridge too far for my car as I have just had my second Helix organic clutch done.  So it’s a headliner job and attempt at refitting some new material. After all it can’t be that hard? 😂  You’re really close to me so I could have a look at yours? You may have already moved or sold the car though but any advice appreciated. From the looks of it there are very few people both willing and able to do this locally without me removing a kidney.

Cheers
