Aircon whirring sound
« on: August 04, 2021, 12:23:53 pm »
The aircon is working fine, but when I turn the engine off after the aircon has been on the motor makes a whirring sound for about ten seconds after the engine is turned off.

Any ideas what could be causing this please ?

It's probably the electric fans.

As said its probably the fans to control the engine/bay temps, very normal behaviour on most cars in general. Cant remember on the mk5 but on a lot of cars you can see the fans kicking in with bonnet open when switching the engine off to satisfy your worries.

Fan run-on and the secondary electric water pump are all part of the normal shut down routines.....especially in the summer.
