Factory fitted rear parking sensors position
« on: August 13, 2021, 07:39:45 am »
I’m about to fit rear parking sensors and would be interested if anyone with them fitter from factory could tell me the distance between them? I have plenty of pics from the internets but would like to get them perfect 👍

Cheers

On the back of the bumper there are crosshairs in the mouldings that highlight the parking sensor locations.

Not on a 2006. I think they started doing that from 2008 ish. Done it now from eBay pics. Will post pics later.

Thanks for replying though @mjmallia

Rear bumper done, I'm really impressed with the cutter, so much neater than any drill. Just need to get it back on the car.

That's really smart - looks OEM. What kit are you using? Any chance of a how to guide?

Hi @Dave J

I'm using this kit for an RNS510, but now I have a Discovery Media head unit I have purchased a new compatible module and adapter harness:

There are several guides available, I'd do a worse job and there's no telling when I'll be doing the rest of the wiring. There is one on this forum and several really comprehensive ones covering lots of detail on other forums, I'll post links below as I find them.

Interesting. No idea why mine had nothing. I'd seen the crosshair markings on YouTube videos of people installing them, but nothing on mine. It looks like the original factory bumper so very odd.
