new hpfp vs old 110k one

planning on upgrading to vis internals so i bought a new pump swapped them over as cam follower needed changed anyway and i was curious if there would be any difference between a fresh hpfp and my old one with 110k on it, 
i wasnt expecting any difference in performance and to be fair there doesnt seem to be any,  but on the mpg side the new one seems to use around 4-5 mpg more which has got me wondering if the new pump loosens up a bit over time otherwise im out of ideas, so any guess what the reason is behind this would be welcome,
as i said its being upgraded so im not bothered just curious... thanks

Running internals I am guessing means more fuel available, so a reduction in mpg wouldn’t be such a surprise

thanks rich but they havent been installed yet just a new pump, but i am curious if i will see any gains from internals at stage 2 power, aks says yes and even at stock there will be small gains,

I would always use the newest pump possible with internals.  You don't want to put internals in a pump with an 110K old piston seal, which you can't buy separately and doesn't come with internals kits (apart from the Integrated Engineering one).

The biggest pump in the world won't change the mpg if it's the only change.

Don't think a new pump will increase your car's fuel consumption if it is a like for like pump. If its upgraded then of course you will see more fuel used, up until the ECU tune has been updated to take into account the higher flowing pump.

seems i forgot about the battery being disconnected while changing it,  seems to have settled after a few trips,
