Turbo actuator arm broken
« on: March 04, 2024, 01:22:08 pm »
Hello!
I have a 2005 mk5 GTI with 250k kms and yesterday the turbo actuator arm has broken for the third time... the first two times we welded the end link where the nut screws on to the arm which i understood because the metal is thin and there is metal fatigue. But the second time we put a forge actuator on the turbo and made the whole thing very strong. Well yesterday THE WHOLE ACTUATOR ARM BROKE OFF. Im at a loss and dont know how there can be enough force there to actually break the metal rod which you cant even brake with your hands if you tried. What could be the underlying cause of this?

The car is lowered on coilovers so maybe vibration from bumbs?
