installing a new canbus
« on: April 02, 2024, 07:09:20 pm »
I’m looking at upgrading the radio in my mk5. Currently have the standard radio (no bluetooth or anything fancy) and i’ve just brought a mk6 radio. I’ve seen i need a new canbus, i know which one i need (7N0 907 530 AR) but after installing is there anything else that needs to be done? I’ve heard it can show warning lights and whatnot but is this true? If so can i fix it myself or can a garage do it or what?

It will need coding with VCDS or similar.

You need to take screen shots of the original settings and then replicate them on the new canbus, as the module numbers/locations will differ.

Without coding, there will be a lot of issues with stuff not working.
