MFSW / DSG Shifter Retrofit - Horn Problem
« on: December 27, 2024, 11:09:12 am »
Hello,

I have replaced SW and airbag to retrofit MFSW / DSG Shifter, however, the horn is not working.

Due to Steering Control module not being compatible (I have 1K0 953 549 A - midline, and I have to replace with 1K0 953 549 AM - highline).

It can be due to control module not compatible, the horn with new airbag not working, or it is some malfunction with new airbag?

There are no airbag lights with new airbag, all normal.

If I plug old airbag, the horn works.

I have checked the airbag harness wiring and saw that the wiring of horn is connected to MFSW commands connector, so this should be the problem for horn?

On non-MFSW I checked the airbag harness wiring and saw that the wiring of horn is connected directly to clockspring connector.

On VCDS it gives Coding rejected, Error 31: Request out of range but it is due to Steering Module not being compatible with MFSW, I guess. So with new module, the horn should work?

The horn in this case is connected with MFSW besides the previous not being connected as it wasn't a MFSW, it was normal.
