FSI motor spitting out intake manifold plugs after pvc delete
« on: January 01, 2025, 05:07:15 am »
Happy new years all, I'm looking for any info or experience anyone has with their car spitting out the manifold plug used when doing a PCV delete. I used the CTS turbo block off plate kit and installed the plug they provided. All was well until the allen nut used to plug the hole in the manifold plug came loose and fell out (my fault didn't think to tighten it when i initially installed the plug), so i plugged it with a bolt I found at home depot for a bit and took it for a test drive. It was fine until I punched it and it made some boost at that point, it just spit the entire plug out. So, I figured the o-ring on the plug was bad from having to take it out and put it back in. I'm fortunate to have Urotuning local to me, so I purchased their velt sport version of the same plug and installed it. I then had the exact same issues as the first plug, so I duct taped the f*cker in there for a while until I could afford the Integrated Engineering version that utilizes the factory style push clip to secure it. I also installed a boost gauge at the same time and used the hole in the plug as my boost tap. Everything was fine yesterday when I test drove the car and had some fun with the new boost gauge, but on my way home this evening towards the end of my drive (thankfully), I stuck my foot in it to go around someone and it did the exact same thing as the last 2 plugs. If anyone has had this happen and has a solution or an idea I'd love to hear it. Thanks and apologies for the novel but I felt like the details were relevant to the issue.
