Some one please help me......
« on: April 17, 2010, 09:30:47 pm »
Literally i have the worst luck ever!! I had my cam belt done on my GTI 05 plate its one 50k, and a service at the same time, all was well, 2 weeks later was driving along and the cam chain went! Luckly didnt do any damage to any valves was just the chain which was £310. Then got the car back yesterday, relised a kind of grinding noice, coming from under the bonnet, took it back to the place and they said it was fine. Was driving back from the place and the stop light came on and said hight oil pressure. So i stopped, opened my oil cap, it seemed to be like a sludge stuff around where the oil cap is, i dont no if this was there b4 the service but the oil looks really clean.... Once i had taken the oil cap off, the car started drove it home very slowely and it seems fine now but i dont really want to drive it as im scared something will go wrong. And the slight grinding noice is still there and the tappets seem louder than usual.

can any one help me please, i will be taking it back to the place i had the bits done, but hoping someone on here will have a slight bit of knowledge on this...

thanks...

The sludge could be down to lots of short journeys plus it has been common this year because of the cold winter. It could also be down to head gasket gone but a service would not cause this.  :chicken:

Also if the garage had fitted your first belt and it snapped, surely they should be paying for it.  :chicken: And if you have taken it back to the same garage and this noise has only just started then it will almost certainly be related to this.

I would be asking the Garage, WTF is going on. then take it somewhere else and give them the bill.  :happy2:
