A couple of us went to Wolfsburg last Friday before heading down to the ring meet on the 8th/9th. I didn't really know what to expect, but as it turned out its a fantastic place to visit if you're a VW fan. Given more knowledge and time I like to think we'd have managed to arrange more tours in English as opposed to having to rely on Mikebgti's translations. There are some fantastic old cars in the 2 museums that we visited on our trip. Unfortunately due to finding them a bit late it meant getting to the ring a bit later than anticipated, but I guess that's bound to happen to an extent when doing something adhoc...
Any way for some pics... hopefully...
The view walking to the back of the main reception building - each tower is full of Golfs, with the odd Rocco and Seat.
Considering the surroundings outside they have made the factory a nice place to visit...
You can go up in one of the towers of the previous images, it's a long way up and gives a great view of the factory and layout.
They have a small "showroom" showing off the new Mk6 R , new Tiguan, Polo Cross and a couple of Rocco's upstairs. That new R is very nice
Anyway went onto a couple of museums after the initial visits and found the complete line of golfs...
and a nice convertible...
I should imagine Mike might have some decent pics, so he may post some of them aswell.
If anyone is over there and likes there VW's (who doesn't??) then the factory is well worth a visit.
