Braking issues
« on: May 14, 2010, 11:49:52 am »
Okay over the last few weeks, I've been commuting to work. Consequently there have been a few new things I've found.

Firstly, when braking hard whilst on a slight curve, there's a little twitchiness at the front. Is this just the TC slowing down each wheel in turn?

Secondly, when brakin very, very hard (not quite emergency stop) the braking is smooth just until the last few mph when there's a crunch sound. Is this the tyres? Or something else?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Yeah, ESP doing its stuff.

Just the road surface I'd guess, although sometimes certain compounds can be a bit gritty at low speed and it kind of crunches a bit.
Sideways yo!

I've had the front-end 'crunch', but only on badly pitted roads when I was giving it a bit too much.

It seems to always happen in my car after the twitchy bit? Crap description, but it's all I can come up with!  :P
