Hi Folks,

Cheers for checking out another thread of mine.

This Time the car is an early 2009 Audi S3. This car had only done 8000 miles but had seen some use already, especially inside!

The Car was booked in for an Interior And Exterior Enhance & Protect!

The Car is owned By Andrew Aka Sparticus on here! He was also on the recent Nurburgring trip with us!

Here she is...

So onto the first thing which were the wheels. Wheel brightener was used on these diluted 6:1.
There were some pretty stubborn brake dust deposits that were not up for shifting unless I used WB!

After a good 15 minutes with various brushes and mitts, this is how they came out looking!

Arches/tyres were done with Super Degreaser and a Vikan Brush.

So once the arches and the wheels were all done I set about doing the bodywork. The Exterior was pretty dust and full of a lot of mud deposits so I firstly foamed with Megs APC to cut through most of the surface muck.

After a wash with Chem Guys Extreme wash n wax, the car was not "allowed" into the unit for claying then drying!

Andrew told me that his house had undergone quite a lot of building work recently, and there may be evidence of that around the car. Well, that would explain the dust when the car was first dropped off!
A closer inspection after a wash showed up all sorts of horrors, but mainly White paint on the driver’s side!

So, I removed all the paint deposits, taking 1.5 hours just to clay! I always seem to spend far too long claying. Hey ho, I wanted it perfect!

Now I had a contamination free surface to work on, it was time to assess imperfections in the paint. Paint thickness readings were taken, and all was above board and to be expected from a car with 8k. No aftermarket paint, No out of character High or low spots.

Here is what we were working with

Nothing too drastic, to be honest. As this was booked for an interior and exterior Enhance & Protect, I wasn’t focussed on chasing every swirl mark and scratch out of the paint. The main aim was to remove light wash marring and rejuvenate the paintwork, add gloss and depth.

On with a test section

50/50 using Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Pro and a Blue 3m Finishing pad.

It does look a lot better, but I tried using a yellow pad for a tiny little more bite. I have used this combo before, and finished down with it. It worked fine and that’s what I went with for the enhancement work.

Afters of the bonnet

As it’s not an enhancement, there was the odd mark still left in the paintwork, as you can see below

You’re not really going to be able to do much with marks like that unless you are doing a full correction.

Onto the other side of the bonnet.

Roof After

The rest of the Job was pretty much the same; I won’t bore you with too many pics!

Remember the driver’s door handle?

After

Now all the machining was done, and the car was dusted down. I like to get tyre dressing on as soon as I can these days, to give the dressing chance to settle and soak in. So before I applied my LSP, I dressed the tyres and sealed the wheels.
I used Swissvax Autobahn and Swissvax Pneu.

Onto the Exhaust. Swissvax used here again, Metal polish.

After

I Then Applied Collinite 476s as Andrew said he was more interested in having a bulletproof LSP than anything else.

Now, remember that interior!? Well I cracked on with it after the LSP was applied.

First up was the boot! It was FULL of dog hairs. I think the boot took me 20 mins alone!

I used Rubber brush, Muchos patience and my Hoover extractor to eventually have a boot I was happy with!

Onto the rest of the interior

Afters

After about 16 Hours work, here is how she looked!

You can certainly say Andrew uses the car!

Sun gun Shots

Outdoor shots.

I love the colours in these two

My car in the background too

Last one....

Thanks for reading guys!

Oh and a quick pic of the car on the Nurburgrind this weekend too!

Mate love the detail but you skipped over the interior detailing.

What products/method did you use? I'm happy with my exterior detailing but sprucing up the interior is something I need to work on.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

sorry mate. Ive been stacked today!

the interior was mainly done with a damp MF towel with some APC in there. Dried off then I used Werkstatt Satin Prot. let that settle then buffed off to leave a sheen, not a shine.

Carpets were extracted then protected with 303 fabric protector! ;)

Thanks for that.

I use APC with a brush on tricky trim bits, with a cloth on large flat surfaces and finish with PB natural look dressing. Haven't figured what to use on upholstery other than a vacuum cleaner!

I am surprised MikeB even let that car in the same country as his.
