Those bolts don't look right.  Too short and the washer is massive.

Whats the part number on the bag for the bolts?

I wasn't aware of using the washers on the bottom too, or are they for the top of the consoles?

Washers are 7M3 499 349 (& 349 A)

Bolts you need are N 908 235 01 going off the old thread Mandy started.

^^ these are the bolts i fitted last week, noticeably longer with a much thinner washer than the ones you have Mike..

Where did you hear about fitting the shims to the bottom?  I can't see them being needed as the movement is between the subframe and the body.
