Now just to bed them in, wearing them round the house, ready for my next trip in March

They look very similar to my Vans  boots :happy2:

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I live by the sea and so this morning I txt'd my fishy friend to ask if any scallops were onboard…. Txt reply is "Done". So I go by Waitrose and my fave fresh free range egg noodles are 49p instead of £1 and then on to my fishy friend - Pass him a fiver and he passes me a package wrapped in newspaper - It could have been anything (and yes he is a 'stoner'). I then drop by the butcher lads and get fed some Chinese marinaded meatballs hot out of their oven - They make themselves (and valued customers/friends) titbits. After hanging out with Garry on his market stall selling computer bits (he's in his late 30's and we have the same taste in laydees) perving on any passing essence for half-an-hour I eventually pass my fishy friend who is packing up his stuff. "Hey man, have a great weekend" I say as I walk past and he then calls after me "Hey! Robin!" beckoning so I go over and he grabs a big piece of squid and wraps it in newspaper and says eat it this Sunday. He normally sells me small squids as I like the heads and tentacles. I thank him and then realise I need more noodles, so back to Waitrose (en route home) and pick up the last of the bags which costs 49p reduced. When I get home I find that instead of my usual 6 scallops for a fiver I've got 8.

Worthy of a pic methinks. Now it's time to cook and eat.

Wow! I nearly didn't post that because I thought perhaps that nobody would be interested in what I purchased for dinner. How wrong was I.

I buy all my fish from the same guys:   http://www.macsorsons.co.uk/gallery-1

They've been at locally it since 1890 so they know what they're doing and what I buy is all freshly caught. I take their advice about what's good and squid tends to be seasonal. John Dory is another favourite of mine.

Oh yeah, that squid has chilli, garlic, olive oil, lemon, a hot griddle pan and my stomach written all over it!

....Very similar to how I like to cook squid except I use a hot wok. I cut the squid into rings/slices.

The scallops don't get more than about 4 minutes done in the juice of half a lemon. I don't garlic them but mix some Blue Dragon Chilli & Lime sauce in with the fresh egg noodles.

IMO too many people spoil the taste of fish with fancy sauces. I only add lemon juice to lobster but I don't usually buy it because it's so expensive, but he gives me some leftovers sometimes and I don't complain!

Cheers, guys!  :drinking: And yes, the scallops were very tasty indeed.
