I had one of those, 3dr SE blue. Great car, and fairly nippy.

It's actually quite a nice car to drive, not a patch on the gti but compared to some of the corsas and 206s I looked at it just drives like a VW should

Yeah. The only problem is if you have an injector go, you literally have about 4bhp! Couldnt even get up a small ramp when one of mine died!  :signLOL:

They are a beast!!  Built like a Challenger 2.

Each time I see one, I think I should be getting the one under wraps back on the road.  Would make the ideal winter car.... sell the GTI and get someting fun for the summer.

Only problem with it, is the engine, 1.9D N/A for reasons that are two fold: 1. It's slow, very slow 2. Tax isn't great.

It's a 1.4tdi

Hopefully won't have it long just a cheap car so I don't rush Into buying my next car

Tax is due at the end of the month but it's £30 for 12 months

Bit gutted that I only got a £28 refund when I swapped insurance from my gti

Yeap, definiitely needs some FI.

It's an "Open Air" version, 3 door black (97 plate), with about 50k on the clock! Pretty rare by now I would think.  Hasn't been started in over 2 years though. :ashamed:

Sold my gti on Thursday and bought this as a run around until I find my next car

I'm having to re learn how to drive again the gti has made me so lazy with gear changes for corners etc

On the plus side I just got 200 miles for £20 of diesel out of this 3 cylinder beast :driver:

Didn't sell my GTi but last friday I bought this for the city:

1.4 16V

That is very nice.....a bit too nice for these current weather conditions. I have a Merida alum frame with guards for winter and a carbon Wiliers Cento1 SR with Di2 for summer! :happy2:

The only reason I don't road bike, is the roads feckin' scare the sh!te outta me... so many people who haven't got a clue how to control their ton plus of metal, I've been off enough times to appreciate how much worse it would be with a motor involved.
