345mm Brakes and Cupra Control Arms
« on: May 21, 2010, 02:43:59 pm »
Hello,

Had my 345 mm Cupra brakes sitting in my garage too long now so getting them fitted. Was toying with the idea of getting the Cupra lower control arms at the same time to help offset some of th weight gained.

Question is has anyone fitted the arms after the brakes and noticed any difference?

Go for the TT mk 2 lower control arms and ball joints, it gives you 0,5 degrees of camber adjustability

Over the top mod list ;o)

The Cupra calipers may be heavy but the stopping power is ace mate!  :happy2:

Djhorrace is getting some 2 piece discs made up, that would save a little more weight, combine with some good pads and you're laughing :)

Im going to sell my lower arms to a gti owner as a weight saving mod and Im going to get the TT lower amrs for the last bit of chassis  tuning

they must be worth it if VAG felt the need to alu lower armns to all models with the 345mm brakes.  Id still say you would be wise to just save up for a tad longer and get your self some adjustability with the TT arms, then you will be much more likely to feel the benefits.

@TFSI Mike - I've got the brakes already (going on next week or two) just wondering whether the lighter control arms preserve ride / handling with the increased weight of the brakes. Give me a shout when your control arms are up for sale please.

@ Sy - Not really after a performance increase in with the TT stuff just preservation of the ride / feel I have now.

Agreed, not everyone needs/wants the extra camber adjustment!
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

I know this is an old thread, but a quick question. I am getting hold of Cupra arms that i'm going to fit with my 345mm brakes on my vRS. Does the bracket that holds the rear bush the same as the vRS/Golf GTI? Or do i have to use the existing one?
