Pescara Wheel - Paint Bubbling
« on: May 23, 2010, 01:17:33 pm »
Hi Guys,

Just did a quick clean of the car today and noticed some bubbling of the paint on one of the alloys.  The bubbling is around 10-15mm and quite noticeable.

Is this something i can take to my local VW dealer for a warranty repair?  :sad1:

Hope you can help.

Chris.

How old is it ?. Not had any problems with mine other than a tiny graze from a curb :sad1:. Paint is a pain to match up.

08 reg, just coming up to 2 years old.

Damn curbs....touch wood i've avoided them for quite some time.  I'm just overly cautious now.

Read about the paint matching issues.  Really this should not be happening for alloys that are basically 2 years old.  If they were to be repainted and were strikingly different to the others, surely I would be in my right to ask for a brand new one??

I would try with the dealer mate as it's still under warranty. A few on here had the 18'' monza alloys replaced so you might be lucky.  :happy2:

Isn't that sods law.  I guess i'm still to find out if the dealers will take care of this under warranty.

It almost seems like you can burst the raised paintwork and then buff down slightly.  Not tried so unsure if this would end up in a mess.

How did you attend to yours to reduce the appearance?
