VWR power upgrade?
« on: June 16, 2010, 04:03:33 pm »
Hi,

I am looking into getting a stage one re-map and was wondering if anyone has any experience of the VWR upgrade?

http://www.volkswagenracing.co.uk/Golf%205%20Pages/Golf%20PowerUpgrades%20Stage%201.html

Any advice greatfully received.

Thanks

afaik the VWR power upgrades are bluefin.  i did hear a rumour that VWR were soon to be doing REVO. if they have that id definetaly choose that over bluefin.

how familiar are you with the options for remaps or is this the first you have seen.  all i say is dont rush into buying anything until you have done yyour research..

there are alot of guys myself included who bought the first remap they saw, and have then swapped to another remap at more cost. some guys are on their third

Agreed rushing into software choice can be costly if you're not happy with it!

Yes VWR do indeed now offer Superchips or REVO but I'd not dismiss Superchips so hastily, there are dozens of happy SC customers on this forum, me included.  :happy2:

im not a fan of bluefin myself.  just a personal experience.  seems to be more a k03 problem from the other similar experiences i have read about.  k04 appears to be good :happy2:

I can confirm VWR do REVO as they are doing my car next week when it goes in for its major surgery. I'm currently teetering at the top of the slippery modding slope, but will soon be nearing the bottom at huge speed!

Yes, VWR are on REVO Dealer list.

I've got REVO STG 3 + VWR K04 kit and DSG STG 2 fitted on my car at VWR. :happy2:

I have tested drive the VWR demo car (K04 kit + SC) and all I can say is that my car seems more powerfull.

I love the demo car there It feels awesome to drive but as already mentioned it's not stupid quick. I thought it was k03? To be fair it's fast enough in a straight line but it's when you get to the bendy bits that it's in a league of it's own

oh and I'm not sure if them doing revo is common knowledge yet is it? I think they might do it for us lot but they have to push superchips because of the contracts with the race cars and stuff

Haha, I thought it was really quiet mike! Remember I've got a proper exhaust! You should see simons face when he took my car for a blast!
